Mission Statement: P.R.I.D.E. Portraits stands for photographs representing individuals deserving equality. Our mission is to visually represent the LGBTQ+ community and it’s allies one photograph and story at a time. Visibility for our community is key to promote the humanization of a community that is dehumanized every single day.
Eric and Hugo met serendipitously, at one of Eric’s early P.R.I.D.E. Portraits photoshoots. Hugo was so enthralled with the project he expressed great interest in being involved. Upon further meetings the two artists realized they had a lot in common. They both grew up in San Francisco and are both originally from El Salvador. They also specialize in portraiture. Eric photographically and Hugo through painting. The two decided that Hugo would paint a pride inspired backdrop which would be the official background for the project. Lending itself to moving the project around the U.S. and combining photography and art.
