It’s the end of an Era. We’ve spent years of our lives texting back and forth about how annoyed we are with the characters on Girls. For some reason we came back every single season and watched it religiously. In this episode we talk about our love/hate relationship with the series and much more! Thanks for listening.

Good episode, Ladies! I’ve been a hate-watcher of this show for a while and I agree with a lot of what you said. For me, this show suffered from what most popular shows suffer from: probably too many cooks in the kitchen in the creative department trying to do too much, feeling that they have to say absolutely everything for the generation they hope to be the voice of. I felt hit over the head with certain points that Dunham felt she had to make and some of it felt forced. It had great moments, but there were way too many shifts in tone, too many wildly unrealistic scenes or big speeches out nowhere, etc. Case in point: the scene in the finale where Hannah runs into the girl on the street. PLOP. Here’s the big point, Folks. That happened a lot throughout the series.
The finale felt more like an epilogue and I would have been perfectly happy without it.
    Thanks again!

Preach, Gremillion. My favorite part about the last few episodes was Becky Ann Baker, playing her mom. This season was really great for her.

Becky Ann Baker is one of my favorite actresses. I love her in everything!!! I was sad where her mother’s story ended, but she performed all of the material well. It was so hard to see everything fall apart for her and never really come back together.

These are all really good points!! I especially agree with it feeling like an epilogue. The finale was totally independent from the rest of the series. Thank you for listening and commenting. I appreciate it.
