Blanket Scarf: A Love Story (Not Really)

It’s a random thing to write a post about but I would be doing the world a disservice by not talking about this subject.

The Blanket Scarf

I had never heard of such a thing before a couple of weeks ago. I first discovered the glory of the blanket scarf from a Vogue article “5 Mistakes Everyone Makes When Packing a Carry-on“. I was expecting the same old travel packing tips of rolling up your t-shirts but instead was blessed with the suggestion:

Don’t worry about trying to layer on a bunch of clothing to save room in your carry-on. Wear whatever is comfortable and pack everything else! I’m always in layers on a plane anyway since you never know what to expect with cabin temperature, but you can also pack a hybrid blanket and scarf in your tote or purse so you have it there under the seat.” —Jen Rubio

STOP THE PRESSES! They make a hybrid blanket and scarf? I searched the term in Amazon and was pleasantly surprised to find that not only do blanket scarves exist, they are pretty cheap. If this were a fancier publication I’d refer you to Chanel or Gucci but this is The Nash Attack where most goods are acquired from Amazon.com.

I love wrapping up and I am one of those people that’s always cold. Even if everyone else in the room says “it’s burning up in here”. What a perfect solution. You have got to get yourself a blanket scarf.

BEHOLD THE GLORY OF THE REVERSIBLE BLANKET SCARF

The blanket scarf is chic enough to be worn in public as an actual scarf. It’s long enough and wide enough to completely cover me from my feet to my shoulders; when I inevitably fall asleep waiting in the hours long line for 50 Shades Darker tickets. I love an accessory that also serves a genuine function (wait until I show you guys the umbrella hat).

I have such a thing for reversible accessories. Yas queen, give me multiple wear options in one product. That’s the world I want to live in. As far as comfort is concerned, this particular blanket scarf from Amazon is top notch. It’s warm but not too warm and soft without feeling flimsy or cheap. For under $15 it’s a great item, you’re going to love it for this fall and winter.
